We formed in 2023 as a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company. We develop automated driving technologies for Ford vehicles, including L3 systems. Our goal is to create future driver assist systems that improve the driving experience for millions of customers.

This includes developing vision-based sensing systems, high-performance C++ libraries for motion planning, and embedded software for safety-critical applications. We also work on unified multi-view, multi-sensor models for 3D object detection, lane line detection, state estimation, and scene segmentation, as well as real-time perception systems for production vehicles. We use a Virtual Test Ecosystem for large-scale simulations and resimulations.

We are headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with engineering centers in Dearborn, Michigan, and Palo Alto, California, and another office in Greenville, South Carolina.

Our mission is to make travel safer, less stressful, and more enjoyable, giving drivers back time on their journeys. We aim to bring the benefits of automation to many, creating safer travel and eventually allowing drivers to use their time better behind the wheel.

We have about 550 people, including technology experts in robotics, machine learning, hardware, cloud infrastructure, product management, systems, safety, and test engineering.

As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, we operate independently, bringing the agility of a startup together with Ford’s manufacturing and scaling capabilities.
