8am is looking for a Collections Specialist! The ideal candidate will have a collections background and attention to detail, working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of collection activities in the company’s database.
- Consolidate reporting from various databases in Excel on a routine basis.
- Monitor customer accounts to apply or lift holds based on collection activity.
- Respond to and communicate with merchants regarding inbound inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to resolve account-related issues and ensure smooth workflow.
- Escalate unresolved issues to senior collections staff or management.
- Assess customer accounts for high-risk factors and report findings to management, contributing to risk mitigation efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About you:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Docs.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Experience and/or knowledge of Salesforce.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills; “can-do” attitude and resourcefulness, combined with the ability to propose solutions.
- Exemplary analytical and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; ability to pivot as business priorities shift.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation.
