8am is looking for a Collections Specialist! The ideal candidate will have a collections background and attention to detail, working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of collection activities in the company’s database.
  • Consolidate reporting from various databases in Excel on a routine basis.
  • Monitor customer accounts to apply or lift holds based on collection activity.
  • Respond to and communicate with merchants regarding inbound inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams to resolve account-related issues and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to senior collections staff or management.
  • Assess customer accounts for high-risk factors and report findings to management, contributing to risk mitigation efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About you:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Docs.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Salesforce.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills; “can-do” attitude and resourcefulness, combined with the ability to propose solutions.
  • Exemplary analytical and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; ability to pivot as business priorities shift.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation.
