Virtual mental health care for children (0-18) and their families

About Little Otter

We are a digital mental health company founded in 2020 by Dr. Helen Egger and Rebecca Egger. We provide virtual care for children aged 0-18 and their families.

Our services include:

  • Individual therapy for children and parents
  • Couples counseling
  • Family therapy
  • Psychiatry consultation
  • Medication management
  • Parent coaching

We treat conditions like depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, ADHD, self-harm, behavioral challenges, OCD, prenatal and postpartum mental health, and challenges related to couples, families, co-parenting, siblings, and LGBTQ identity. We do not assess for Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Care is delivered through a virtual platform. The process starts with an initial call to understand family needs, followed by matching with clinicians for a kickoff call within 24 hours. Progress is tracked using the Little Otter app.

Our results show that 80% of children improve significantly in 12 sessions, 3 out of 4 parents see a notable reduction in anxiety and depression, and 61% of families report less stress. We accept various insurance plans, including Independence Blue Cross (PA, DE), AmeriHealth (NJ), Sana, Florida Blue, Kaiser - Northern California, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. Therapy sessions are HSA/FSA eligible.

Co-founder Dr. Helen Egger, a child psychiatrist with over 30 years of experience, developed our Family Mental Health Check-up and measurement-based care model.
