We provide digital treatments and programs that offer effective, accessible mental health care for common mental health conditions. Our app-based treatments are designed by clinical experts and supported by research and randomized controlled trials. We simplify access for employers, payers, and patients, aiming to create an inclusive, scalable, and affordable mental health ecosystem. We specialize in behavioral medicine, digital health, digital medicine, mental health, and digital therapeutics.

Our offerings include FDA-cleared prescription digital therapeutics like Sleepio RX, a first-line CBT-I treatment for insomnia disorder in adults 18 and older, and Daylight RX, a first-line CBT treatment for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) in adults 22 and older. We also offer digital programs such as Sleepio for improving sleep quality, Daylight for reducing worry and anxiety, and Spark Direct for improving mood, which addresses adolescent depression.

Since our founding in 2010, we have treated and supported over 500,000 patients. Client implementation satisfaction is 9.⁸⁄₁₀, and our apps maintain a 4+ App Store rating. Our clinical validation includes over 100 peer-reviewed publications and 22 completed randomized controlled trials, with 4 references in clinical guidelines. Patients using our programs have reported improvements: 76% in sleep, 71% in worry and anxiety, and 67% in mood. We acquired Limbix to expand our focus into adolescent mental health.

Our mission is to help millions back to good mental health. Our co-founder, Peter Hames, experienced insomnia and saw the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This led him and Dr. Colin Espie to create Big Health.

We have been a remote-friendly company since our founding in 2010, with over 70% of our workforce operating remotely across the US and UK. We have experience supporting distributed teams to work effectively from various locations. Our work environment encourages collaboration across cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Product, Studio, Enrollment Marketing, Finance, Legal, Data, Sales, SEO, Clinical, Design, and Patient Support. We foster an environment that values empathy, curiosity, and proactive problem-solving, guiding decision-making with innovation, patient impact, and ethical governance. To maintain team cohesion, we host an annual in-person Summit at our San Francisco headquarters, with virtual options when necessary, and organize regular social events.

We provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employee coverage for medical, vision, and dental insurance, and 50% coverage for dependents. Employees receive 20 vacation days per year, which accrue monthly, along with 9 federal holidays and an end-of-year company closure between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Up to 10 sick days are also provided annually.

For professional development, employees are eligible for a $1,000 USD or £800 stipend. Retirement savings options include a 401(k) program with a company match for US employees and a NEST pension program for UK employees. Parental leave is available to employees from their first day of employment.
