About Lyft
Logan Green and John Zimmer founded Lyft in 2012 to provide ground passenger transportation services. We serve approximately 95% of the United States population and select cities in Canada. Our offerings include ridesharing, carpooling, bikeshare systems, electric scooters, and partnerships with public transit. We are committed to offsetting carbon emissions from all rides and promoting transportation equity.
We operate specialized teams to manage our diverse services and internal systems. Our Emerging Business team provides enterprise customer support for healthcare rides and other enterprise accounts. Our People Technology team acts as the technical expert for the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) platform. We define its roadmap, manage configurations, and lead integrations to create compliant, secure, and scalable HR technology solutions.
Data science and analytics are central to our operations. Our Algorithm Data Scientists develop mathematical models for core services, addressing problems in optimization, prediction, machine learning, and inference. We apply these models to improve real-time matching of rideshare supply and demand, enhance rider and driver experiences, and build and scale rider engagement products like discounting systems. Our Base Earnings team uses these methods to determine pay for rides and ensure regulatory compliance. Our Driver Experience team uses data to understand driver behavior, design experiments, and develop dashboards that monitor product health and maximize driver earnings. This team works with product, engineering, and operations to turn insights into actionable products.
We also develop monetization strategies through our Offsite Ads team. This team develops integrations and platform capabilities that allow advertisers to reach Lyft riders on third-party channels. This extends advertising reach beyond our own inventory by partnering with various ad technology platforms.
