iOS Engineer

We are hiring an iOS Software Engineer to join our Global Growth team that focuses on supporting high priority initiatives at Lyft, such as International Expansion, AVs etc.

As an iOS engineer at Lyft, you will work hand in hand with various teams, fostering collaboration and driving innovation to improve our customers’ experience with rideshare

Responsibilities:

  • Drive high-impact projects and innovate new solutions to provide the best onboarding experience.
  • Independently responsible for features or projects relative to advancing the team’s goals and priorities.
  • Understand customer needs, write documents to communicate system design, drive cross-functional collaboration and own project deliverables.
  • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, production on-call support and incident triaging process.
  • Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
  • Share your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and promoting appropriate tech and engineering best practices
  • Identify, triage, debug and resolve issues/bugs across our various applications and platforms
  • Keep up-to-date with iOS and industry developments

Experience:

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Worked on and shipped large scale iOS applications
  • Experience with Swift, SwiftUI, unit and snapshot testing, and creating shared components
  • Experience with architecture paradigms like unidirectional and reactive programming, and other patterns commonly used in the industry
  • Great product sense; you care about usability and good design
  • Ability to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, and cross-functional team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to uplift others
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in distributed teams spread across time zones. (US and Europe)

Lyft highly values having employees working in-office to foster a collaborative work environment and company culture. This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule following the establishment of a Lyft office in Mexico City β€” Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Lyft considers working in the office at least 3 days per week to be an essential function of this hybrid role. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid
