We started in 1994 as Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc. (MBRDNA). Based in Silicon Valley, California, we develop new technologies for Mercedes-Benz globally and adapt our cars for North American drivers. Our work includes autonomous driving, advanced interaction design, digital user experience, machine learning, consumer research, and open innovation.

Our design team contributes to show and production cars, including the AMG Vision Gran Turismo, Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Coupe and Cabriolet, Vision EQ Silver Arrow, and Vision C111. We develop electrified powertrains for the Mercedes-Benz, AMG, EQ, G, and Maybach lines, which includes battery research, inverter software, and powertrain calibration.
