ABOUT THE TEAM
In Aftersales & Ownership, we shape end-to-end experiences that support customers throughout their entire ownership journey. Our scope spans key Aftersales domains such as Service, Accident Management, and Parts Trading, with a strong focus on Customer Engagement. We aim to turn every digital touchpoint into a meaningful Mercedes-Benz brand experience.
Through the My Mercedes-Benz ecosystem, we translate real customer needs and cutting-edge technology into intuitive solutions that are trusted and valued worldwide
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
Design, build, and maintain microservice-based backend applications using Kotlin or Java
Work closely with a cross-functional product team and collaborate with other engineering teams on backend-related topics
Apply DevOps principles across the full software lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and operation
Analyze technical and business challenges and work towards pragmatic, scalable solutions
Contribute to the design of software and system architectures and support the creation of technical specifications based on proven design patterns
Ensure high quality standards by improving test coverage, code quality, reliability, and security practices
Requirements
TO SUCCEED YOU NEED
BSc or MSc degree in a computer-related field, or equivalent practical experience
Professional experience with Kotlin or Java
Strong experience with Spring Boot
Hands-on experience with unit testing, using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience working in a cloud environment (any cloud provider)
Experience with Git and build tools such as Maven or Gradle
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
Ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into simple, maintainable technical solutions
Comfortable working in English within a collaborative, cross-functional team
THERE WILL BE BIG SMILES IF YOU
Experience with the Spring Reactive Stack
Experience using Datadog for monitoring, logging, or performance analysis
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and build and deploy automation
Experience developing or maintaining cloud-native services at scale
OUR TECH STACK
We use modern tools and cloud-native technologies to build reliable backend services:
Kotlin / Java with Spring Boot for backend development
Cloud platforms, primarily AWS, but experience with any cloud is relevant
Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
Datadog for application performance monitoring and logging
Git, Maven, and Gradle for version control and build automation
