You will join the Apps Onboarding & Enablement team, part of the Platform & Data Area at Mercedes-Benz.io.
The team operates at the intersection of platform services and development teams. It is responsible for Kubernetes and Docker platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud operations automation, with a strong focus on customer enablement, reliability, and cost optimization.
AS A CLOUD OPS ENGINEER YOU WILL
Operate and continuously improve Docker- and Kubernetes-based platforms running on AWS
Ensure Kubernetes environments are reliable, scalable, and released to production without downtime
Automate platform and infrastructure operations using Python, Bash, and Infrastructure as Code
Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform services and application deployments
Enable and support development teams onboarding and running applications on Kubernetes as a trusted technical partner
Improve and document platform processes for onboarding, operations, and optimization
Monitor platform health and performance using tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch
Investigate and resolve issues across Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and cloud infrastructure
Collaborate closely with developers, security teams, and project managers
Contribute to cloud cost optimization and FinOps initiatives
Requirements
TO SUCCEED YOU NEED
Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes in production environments
Experience automating infrastructure or platform operations using Python or Bash
Practical experience with Terraform, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
Solid Linux and networking fundamentals
Experience with monitoring and observability tools
Comfort working in agile teams using Scrum or Kanban
THERE WILL BE BIG SMILES IF YOU HAVE
FinOps experience, including cost optimization tools such as Karpenter or Goldilocks
Cloud migration experience including IaaS, lift‑and‑shift, or re‑architecture projects
