Key Responsibilities
Editing & Craft
Create eye-catching 15–60 second videos for all major platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest), optimised for each format.
Edit raw footage, including UGC, with transitions, graphics, and audio to produce engaging promotional content.
Lead and personally execute high-priority edits, setting the quality bar, and own final review and sign-off on all outgoing videos before delivery.
Team Leadership & People Management
Manage, mentor, and develop the team of video editors — onboarding, training, and ongoing feedback.
Conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews and support each editor’s skill growth.
Allocate work across the team based on capacity, strengths, and priority.
Workflow & Project Management
Plan and manage the editing pipeline so projects are delivered on time and to spec.
Set and maintain deadlines, track progress, and remove blockers.
Establish and document editing processes, file/asset organisation, naming conventions, and version control to keep the team efficient.
Collaboration & Communication
Act as the main point of contact between the editing team and other stakeholders (creative strategists, marketers, designers).
Translate briefs and creative direction into clear, actionable tasks.
Continuously brainstorm and pitch new creative ideas and angles to the Ads Department.
Quality & Performance
Maintain consistency in style, branding, and technical quality across all output.
Study consumer behaviour and creative performance data (hook rate, hold/retention, CTR, ROAS), and feed those learnings back into editing decisions and iterations.
Build and maintain templates, presets, and reusable assets to improve speed and consistency.
Tools, Trends & Innovation
Own and optimise the team’s tech stack (editing software, asset libraries, storage, collaboration tools) and manage media assets, archives, and backups.
Stay up to date with social media trends and editing techniques and integrate them into the process.
Keep an open mind for new approaches and AI shortcuts that speed up production and captivate customers.
Requirements
Must-Have
5–6 years of hands-on video editing experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior role.
Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (or DaVinci Resolve).
Proven track record creating short-form content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest.
Strong understanding of performance metrics — hook rate, retention, CTR, ROAS — and how editing influences them.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a creative team in a remote environment.
Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder skills.
Good to Have
Experience with project management tools (Notion, Asana, ClickUp, or similar).
Background in wellness, mindfulness, or conscious lifestyle content.
Familiarity with AI-assisted editing tools and production shortcuts.
Experience hiring or evaluating video editors.
