Job Description

NBCUniversal Advertising Products & Solutions (AP&S) is responsible for the product development and project management of NBCUniversal’s full advertising technology suite. From sales support to campaign execution, delivery, and billing, our division services both internal and external customers in support of NBCUniversal’s $7B+ annual advertising business. Together, we’re building the platform that powers the future of advertising at NBCU.

NBCUniversal’s Data Asset Management team is responsible for transforming raw, disparate data into trusted, consistent, and reusable assets that power decision‑making across the enterprise. As a Data Analyst, you will manicure, explore, validate, and productize data across multiple cloud platforms including GCP, AWS, Databricks, and Snowflake.

You will champion a modular approach to data delivery, balancing vendor-native capabilities (Snowflake, Databricks) with open interoperability standards (Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake). You will design efficient, cross-platform data shares to ensure that curated datasets are optimized for consumption—internally and externally—without sacrificing governance, quality, or documentation.

You’ll collaborate closely with data engineering, governance, product, analytics, and business stakeholders to create high‑quality, well‑defined data products with clear lineage, standards, and measurable value.

What You’ll Do:

Data Quality, Exploration & Understanding

  • Profile, cleanse, standardize, and validate datasets to ensure high levels of trust, usability, and integrity.
  • Conduct deep data exploration to uncover trends, anomalies, and quality gaps; recommend remediations and drive improvements with source‑system owners.
  • Document metric definitions, KPIs, business rules, and lineage to create shared organizational understanding.

Data Productization

  • Transform raw, multi‑source data into curated datasets, semantic layers, and reusable data products aligned to business needs.
  • Operate across GCP, AWS, Databricks, and Snowflake, ensuring data models are performant, well‑structured, and governed.
  • Support Snowflake data sharing initiatives by preparing high‑confidence, access‑controlled share‑ready assets.
  • Partner with engineering to implement data contracts, SLAs, and best practices for reliability and discoverability.

Analytics, Insights & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Collaborate with governance, privacy, security, and legal teams to ensure compliance with data policies and standards.
  • Understand stakeholder data needs, and address those needs either through data uncovering or data acquisition.

Automation, Optimization & Governance

  • Develop and optimize SQL transformations, pipelines, and data checks across cloud platforms.
  • Implement enterprise data quality rules, thresholds, and automated monitoring.
  • Contribute to metadata, naming conventions, and stewardship standards to create consistency and scalability.
  • Ensure data assets are accessible, well‑documented, and compliant with NBCU’s governance requirements.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For (Must‑Haves)

  • 1+ years of hands‑on data analytics experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including advanced joins, window functions, and performance tuning.
  • Experience working in one or more of the following platforms: Snowflake, GCP (BigQuery), AWS (Redshift/S3), Databricks.
  • Familiarity with data sharing concepts (e.g., Snowflake Secure Shares, governed access patterns).
  • Experience building curated datasets, semantic layers, or analytical data products.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and deliver clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong documentation habits and commitment to data quality, governance, and consistency.
  • Proficiency with BI or notebook tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Python notebooks).

Bonus Points (Nice‑to‑Haves)

  • Experience with Snowflake clean rooms, Secure Shares, or cross‑org data collaboration.
  • Hands‑on work with dbt or other SQL transformation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data lineage, cataloging, or metadata tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
  • Background in media, streaming, advertising, or digital consumer analytics.
  • Understanding of cloud cost optimization and resource tuning (warehouses, clusters, compute).

How You’ll Succeed

  • Bring clarity: You create order from ambiguity by defining metrics, rules, and data structures clearly and consistently.
  • Build trust: You champion data quality and ensure data products are reliable, documented, and scalable.
  • Collaborate with influence: You work effectively across engineering, governance, product, and business teams.
  • Think product, not pipeline: You design data with reusability and long‑term value in mind.

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
