About Us:

NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution is responsible for the licensing and distribution of NBCUniversal product to all forms of television and new media platforms in the U.S., Canada and in over 200 territories internationally. NBCUniversal’s content portfolio includes a vast and diverse library of more than 6,500 feature films and 170,000 television episodes, including current and classic titles, non-scripted programming, kids, sports, news, long-form and short-form programming from Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios, Sky Studios, NBC Late Night properties, DreamWorks Animation, Telemundo, and more, as well as locally produced content from around the world. Global TV Distribution is a division of Comcast NBCUniversal.

Overview:

The Manager, Revenue oversees operational accounting with a focus on the order to cash process. This role is responsible for creating and revising production contracts in the revenue subledger system, managing key contractual event dates that drive billing and revenue recognition, reviewing proposed revenue transactions, and managing the billing processes. This role also supports the team performing accounting functions such as monthly close, journal entries, account reconciliations and ad hoc analysis and reporting tasks.  This role reports to the Director, Accounting.

Responsibilities:

Contract Management (including revenue recognition and billing)

  • Review and manage new customer contracts and revision requests, partnering with Production Finance, FP&A, and Legal to interpret key terms and ensure accurate license fee calculation and revenue recognition
  • Enter license fees and billing terms into revenue subledger system to facilitate revenue recognition and invoice generation
  • Generate, review, and process proposed revenue transactions and invoices in accordance with contractual terms
  • Validate end-to-end integration between systems (subledger and S/4), including invoice generation, billing document posting, and reconciliation of billing activity
  • Prepare and analyze system generated reports for monthly and quarterly reporting requirements

Intracompany

  • Record and manage monthly intercompany billings and revenue between intercompany networks
  • Prepare and post intercompany residuals and breakage billings
  • Support Corporate in the intercompany elimination process by responding to inquiries and researching variances

General Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc journal entries and perform research on transactions or inquiries, as needed
  • Prepare and maintain all required account reconciliations with detailed support and follow through on necessary adjustment journal entries
  • Complete required quarterly deliverables for Corporate, including data requests, tie-outs, and analytical support
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency in accounting processes and reporting, including documentation of procedures
  • Perform ad hoc reporting (including report design) and support special projects, as requested

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related area
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Desired Characteristics

  • Exceptional knowledge of general accounting practices and financial accounting standards, including ASC 606
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, plan, organize, and prioritize work to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent project management skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Exhibit strong analytical, technical, and research skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across the organization
  • Willingness to learn new systems

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
