Job Description
The Programming Manager, Talent is a critical member of the NBC News on ‑air talent team, responsible for overseeing and executing programming and scheduling across all NBC News linear and digital platforms. This role ensures seamless coverage, operational accuracy, and fast, effective coordination in a dynamic, deadline-driven newsroom environment.
Reporting to the Vice President, Talent Development & Recruitment, the Programming Manager will work cross-functionally with talent, show production, programming and editorial teams to support daily and long-range programming needs.
Qualifications
- Manage all programming logistics related to anchor programming scheduling across NBC News linear shows and digital platforms, including overnights
- Coordinate and schedule anchor coverage to ensure continuity and consistency across all programming
- Serve as a central point of contact for daily programming changes, breaking news coverage, and short notice‑ adjustments
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of anchor assignments, schedules, and changes
- Collaborate closely with Talent team, Production, Newsroom leadership, and Operations to proactively identify coverage needs
- Support quick-turn programming decisions in a fast-paced, 24⁄7 news environment
- Communicate clearly and efficiently with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution
- Anticipate potential scheduling challenges and propose solutions to meet programming demands
- Responsible for partnering with the Human Resources team to onboard freelance talent
- Support team research needs, and assist in PowerPoint preparation for showcasing talent
- Uphold NBC News editorial standards and operational best practices across all assignments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in news programming, talent coordination, scheduling, or a related role
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Proven ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations
- Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills

- Experience working with on-air talent and/or talent management teams
- Familiarity with both linear and digital news programming workflows
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with exceptional follow-through

Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as news coverage requires
- Must be willing to work in New York, NY
- Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 (bonus eligible)
