Job Description
Join Nine and help drive the success of iconic mastheads like The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and The Australian Financial Review. As a Graphic Designer within our Audience Growth team, you will conceptualise and execute high-impact, multi-channel marketing campaigns that reach millions of Australians every month. This is a unique opportunity to blend brand stewardship with creative innovation, translating complex marketing objectives into compelling visual stories in a fast-paced, news-cycle environment.
Day to day you will:
- Conceptualise and design high-impact marketing assets for prestige brands, from initial brief to final delivery.
- Produce high-quality creative for a diverse channel mix, including digital OOH, social media, print, display banners, and EDM templates.
- Act as a brand guardian, ensuring all creative output remains consistent with guidelines while innovating for audience growth and retention.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Design Manager and internal stakeholders to translate marketing goals into engaging visual narratives.
- Design with a mobile-first mindset to ensure all digital assets are optimised for performance, accessibility, and user engagement.
- Manage technical requirements for print-ready files and digital specifications with 100% accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in an in-house studio or agency, ideally within publishing, media, or subscription-based industries.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates a high level of craft in typography, layout, and digital design.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Advanced skills in Figma to facilitate modern design and collaborative team workflows.
- A solid understanding of digital constraints, including HTML/CSS and responsive design principles.
- Proficiency in, or a strong desire to develop, After Effects skills for creating engaging motion graphics.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to juggle multiple briefs and communicate design rationale clearly under pressure.
