NRG Consulting Group is supporting a national, network-based climate initiative in the search for a senior executive leader to guide the organization through its next chapter. This role will lead a fast-moving, collaborative effort focused on aligning and activating state and local climate leadership, working closely with governors, mayors, and senior partners across sectors. The position offers a distinctive opportunity to shape how U.S. subnational leaders engage both domestically and internationally, including building a coalition through strategic partnerships with global allies. The role blends strategy, coalition-building, and organizational leadership, with responsibility for setting direction, building a high-performing team, and advancing coordinated action in a complex political landscape.
The ideal candidate brings deep familiarity with state government and/or mayoral leadership, strong relational credibility with senior leaders and funders, and experience working in or alongside large coalitions or networks. This is not a policy technician role; rather, it is well-suited for a politically savvy, low-ego leader who can operate in ambiguity, synthesize complex input, and translate strategy into action. Experience in climate-related work is required, and international engagement experience is preferred.
