We started Ohalo in 2017 to specialize in unstructured data governance software. Our main product, Data X-Ray, is an AI-driven platform using Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP).

Data X-Ray helps organizations manage their unstructured data by scanning, discovering, classifying, redacting sensitive information, and controlling access across on-premise and cloud environments. It also creates metadata stores and executes Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) quickly.

Data X-Ray automates the discovery and classification of unstructured data at enterprise scale, turning raw data into a secure, governed, and AI-ready asset. It maps entire data landscapes at petabyte scale by discovering technical metadata, enriches data through high-speed content scanning to identify PII, IP, and critical data points, and uses Large Language Models (LLMs) to contextualize and categorize files. The platform extracts key information from documents to create structured, queryable data for advanced analytics and AI applications. Security features include automated redaction of sensitive information, remediation of risky entitlements, and integration with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Security Access Service Edge (SASE) tools. It enforces policies and manages the full data lifecycle, from curating governed datasets for AI to ensuring compliance with retention policies. We are ISO 27001 certified for security compliance and have secured over 950 million files.

Data X-Ray works in complex, hybrid environments, offering a single view across legacy on-premise file servers and cloud storage. It connects natively to over 1,000 data sources, deploys in hours with an agentless, container-based architecture, and scans billions of files without impacting system performance. The classification intelligence uses advanced LLMs and AI for context-aware categorization, high-speed content scanning, and custom intelligence building. Robust governance and security controls enable automated policy enforcement, granular entitlements auditing, and secure redaction for anonymized datasets.

We founded Ohalo to solve unstructured data problems, especially with new regulations like GDPR and increasing cybersecurity threats. We provide solutions for both defensive use cases, such as records management and regulatory compliance, and offensive use cases, including document intelligence and AI-powered analytics. We partner with technology companies to integrate Data X-Ray into enterprise data catalogs.
