About the Role

The Manager, Consumer Insights, conducts market research, analyzes consumer data, and delivers actionable insights to guide product development, marketing strategies, and overall business decisions. Key responsibilities include designing research studies using qualitative and quantitative methods, interpreting data to identify trends, presenting findings to stakeholders, and collaborating with marketing, product, and sales teams to foster customer-centric strategies. This strategic role requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of consumer behavior to drive business growth and customer loyalty

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research: Conduct extensive market research to gather data on consumer preferences, buying patterns, and demographic trends within the beauty categories (Cosmetics, Hair, etc.). This includes analyzing sales data, conducting surveys, and monitoring social media channels to identify emerging trends and consumer sentiments
  • Consumer Behavior Analysis: Identify key factors driving purchasing decisions by studying consumer behavior. This may include factors such as price sensitivity, brand loyalty, ingredient preferences, and the influence of influencers and celebrities
  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitors to understand their product offerings, pricing strategies, and marketing tactics. This helps in identifying areas of opportunity and potential threats to the brand’s market share
  • Product Development Insights: Guide product development efforts with consumer insights gathered. By understanding consumer needs and preferences, the position can provide valuable input to product development teams to create new products or improve existing ones
  • Marketing Strategy: Inform marketing strategies tailored to the target audience within the beauty category. This includes identifying the most effective channels for reaching consumers, crafting messaging that resonates with their needs and desires, and developing promotional campaigns that drive engagement and sales
  • Customer Experience Enhancement: Provide recommendations for enhancing the overall customer experience. This may include optimizing packaging design, improving product formulations, or enhancing the online shopping experience

About You/Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Psychology, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field; Masters in Statistics or related advanced degree preferred
  • 5 years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or related roles in beauty category or CPG industry
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful consumer research strategies that drive business impact
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate insights to diverse stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with a forward-thinking mindset and a passion for innovation
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail

Our Total Rewards:

The annual base pay for this position is XXX - XXX with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, years of relevant experience, skill level, functional expertise, certificates or other professional licenses held and geographic location.
