About Opulo

Founded in 2021, we build desktop Pick and Place machines for assembling electronic components onto circuit boards (PCBAs). Our main product is the LumenPnP, currently in its v4 version.

The LumenPnP helps with in-house production by placing components after solder paste application and before reflow. It uses autonomous feeders that can place tens of thousands of parts without interruption; up to 50 feeders fit on one machine. The LumenPnP is precise enough for 0402 component sizes and is open source. It’s used in industries like Consumer Electronics and in areas like Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Digital Fabrication.

Mission & Values

Our mission is to help people manufacture their products. We focus on mid-scale production, from 100 to 5000 units per year. This range is ideal for quick prototypes or moderate production runs for sale, bridging the gap between small-scale prototyping (1-100 units) and the mass production that typically requires contract manufacturers and significant capital.

The LumenPnP and our future projects are designed to support this market. We also embrace an open-source philosophy.

Team & Culture

We are a small company, typically with 1-10 employees. Our work environment is fast-growing and remote-friendly, common for an evolving startup.

We focus on technical communication and community interaction. Our team members contribute to product improvements and help customers with CNC-related hardware and software tools.
