We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated and hands-on People Experience Manager to lead the development and delivery of a high-quality employee experience across Our Future Health on a maternity cover basis (on a 1 year FTC). This role will play a key part in ensuring our people feel connected, supported, recognised and empowered to thrive at every stage of their journey with us, while also leading and developing a small team..
Despite big improvements in healthcare in our lifetimes, today millions of people in the UK still live in poor health as they get older. Diseases like cancer, dementia, diabetes, and heart disease affect the lives of many people in our communities. Our goal is to create a world-leading resource for health research, to improve our understanding and spot the patterns of how and why common diseases start, so treatments can begin sooner and be more effective.
Our Future Health will be the UK’s largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to develop new ways to detect, prevent, and treat diseases. We are a charity, supported by the UK Government, in partnership with charities and industry. We work closely with the NHS and with public authorities across all nations and regions of the UK.
What you’ll be doing:
In this role, you will work closely with People Partners, Learning & Development, EDI, Internal Communications and teams across the organisation to design and deliver a joined-up, insight-led employee experience. Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Design and implement a people experience strategy aligned with organisational values and culture
- Lead employee listening activity, including surveys, pulse checks and feedback analysis, ensuring insights are translated into meaningful action
- Enhance onboarding and offboarding experiences to ensure they are inclusive, consistent and aligned with our employer brand
- Develop and embed initiatives that promote belonging, inclusion, recognition and connection across the organisation
- Partner cross-functionally to deliver a cohesive and integrated employee experience
- Define and track key experience metrics, developing dashboards to monitor impact and progress
- Identify and implement tools and systems that improve engagement, feedback and recognition
- Support culture and engagement initiatives across the year, including key moments and campaigns
- Develop toolkits, guidance and resources to support managers in delivering great people experiences
- Lead, coach and develop a team of three, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Represent People Experience in cross-organisational projects where required
Ideally the successful candidate will have experience working within employee experience, engagement, organisational development and/or organisational change roles in complex or fast-paced environments. To succeed in this role, you will also have some of the following skills:
Technical or Role-Specific Skills:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of employee experience theory and best practice.
- Experience designing and embedding employee engagement strategies in complex or fast-paced organisations.
- Proficiency in survey and feedback tools.
- Ability to translate qualitative and quantitative people data into clear insights and actions.
- Experience designing inclusive onboarding and offboarding programmes.
- Strong project management, planning, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with internal communications and recognition tools/platforms.
- Knowledge of employee lifecycle processes and how they influence employee perception and performance.

This is a 1 year Fixed Term Contract role.
From £63,000 per annum basic salary.
