Role Overview As an Events & Live Sessions Portfolio Manager, you will own and grow Packt’s live engagement portfolio by managing expert relationships, shaping event experiences, and ensuring the successful design and delivery of impactful sessions. This role emphasizes expert experience, relationship-building, and program design credibility over traditional sales or event logistics. You’ll ensure the right experts are onboarded, supported, and set up to succeed in delivering high-value live events that strengthen Packt’s brand and influence within the technology ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

Portfolio Ownership & Growth

  • Manage and expand Packt’s live events portfolio by aligning programming with category strategy, audience needs, and emerging trends.
  • Shape the event vision for each session—balancing expert strengths, practitioner interests, and Packt’s strategic priorities.
  • Identify new themes, formats, and opportunities for engagement, ensuring sessions remain relevant and market-leading.
  • Make commissioning decisions that optimize both expert credibility and long-term audience impact.

High-Profile Expert Acquisition

  • Identify, approach, and secure top-tier practitioners, thought leaders, and innovators as speakers or facilitators.
  • Craft compelling propositions that align with an expert’s brand and career ambitions while showcasing Packt’s event credibility.
  • Negotiate participation terms and ensure experts are onboarded with clarity, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
  • Build a visible network of high-profile experts that strengthens Packt’s reputation as a hub for live knowledge-sharing.

Expert & Speaker Experience

  • Act as the trusted counterpart for speakers from onboarding through delivery—clarifying scope, setting quality standards, and aligning expectations.
  • Build long-term relationships with experts that encourage repeat participation and ambassador-level advocacy.
  • Ensure speakers are supported with the right formats, platforms, and audience engagement tools to deliver impactful sessions.
  • Facilitate expert amplification by connecting them with the right audiences and communities.

Community & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Engage with technical ecosystems (GitHub, LinkedIn, Reddit, Stack Overflow, Discord, YouTube, conferences) to identify rising voices, expertise, and event opportunities.
  • Collaborate with influencers, community leaders, and practitioners to co-host or amplify live sessions.
  • Support community-facing initiatives (panels, AMAs, workshops, webinars) that spotlight Packt’s experts and reinforce brand positioning.
  • Feed community insights into programming strategy, ensuring events align with practitioner expectations.

Market & Product Insight

  • Maintain deep awareness of industry trends and practitioner needs to ensure events are positioned for maximum relevance.
  • Translate market intelligence into event strategies that deliver value to both experts and audiences.
  • Partner with marketing, design, and operations teams to ensure events are promoted and delivered effectively.
  • Act as the product owner of your events portfolio, ensuring measurable outcomes across attendance, engagement, and brand impact.

  • Achieve strong speaker satisfaction and retention through thoughtful onboarding and support.
  • Drive community visibility and audience engagement through authentic amplification and ecosystem integration.
  • Show measurable portfolio impact across attendance, engagement metrics, and brand positioning.

Mothly Gross Salary: INR 60K -200K fixed per month (depending on relevant experience and /skills)
