Job Description
The team
You will join the Artificial Intelligence Platform Services (AIPS) & Analytics team, comprising over 250 members across the Asia-Pacific region. This team is structured into cross-disciplinary squads, bringing together professionals from Data Science, Product, Engineering, and Data Analysis to collaboratively research, design, build, and support end-to-end AI-based services that deliver direct value to hirers and job seekers. About the role
This Senior Data Scientist role sits within the Artificial Intelligence Platform Services (AIPS) team and reports to the Head of Responsible AI. You will be a mixture of a Data Scientist, a Machine Learning Engineer, and a Researcher. Successful performance in this role will be demonstrated by developing insightful research and analyses on AI-based products and proposing and implementing changes to deliver positive social impact. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be expected to stay up to date with emerging techniques and methodologies in Responsible AI, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, and be deeply involved in a culture of continual improvement and collaboration. Someone passionate about solving practical and impactful challenges in the intersection areas of a multi-disciplinary field to build long-term sustainable, Responsible AI businesses. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of Responsible AI at SEEK by leveraging our governance processes, developing and distributing best practices, and driving innovation.
Responsibilities
- Partner with squads to embed Responsible AI into AI/ML and analytics product design and delivery.
- Design, test, and continuously improve Responsible AI assessment methods, tools, and metrics collaboratively.
- Run robust experiments on AI-based services and iterate data products with Strategy, Product, Data Science, and Engineering.
- Develop and consolidate Responsible AI guidelines, playbooks, training, and supporting materials.
- Support squads in integrating Responsible AI processes into the AI development lifecycle.
- Advocate for Responsible AI/ML best practices, clearly communicating benefits and limitations to stakeholders.
- Gather, model, and validate relevant data; contribute to research planning, experimental design, and problem-solving across APAC teams.
Qualifications
Skills and experience
- 3+ years’ experience building and improving data-informed, internet-scale products.
- Postgraduate qualification in a quantitative or behavioural science discipline (e.g. Physics, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics)
- Strong knowledge of Responsible AI/AI Ethics frameworks and AI risk concepts.
- Solid foundations in algorithms and data structures, plus ML, IR, recommender systems, LLMs, NLP, or HCI.
- Expertise in data analysis, statistics, and experimentation (online and offline).
- Proficiency in Python and data visualisation/EDA tools (e.g., Databricks, Tableau).
- Strong communication skills, stakeholder collaboration experience, and ability to work independently in interdisciplinary environments.
