Job Overview
Join SEEK Group Engineering as a Senior Software Engineer where you’ll be a fully autonomous technical professional building user-centric, scalable solutions. You’ll strengthen engineering practices, mentor junior engineers, and work within cross-functional squads serving customers across the SEEK marketplace.
The Role
- Build, test, deploy and maintain cloud-first software from development through to production, ensuring systems are reliable, resilient and efficient
- Drive software engineering best practices and strengthen DevOps culture through effective collaboration and continuous improvement
- Write clean, well-tested, secure code using current patterns and tooling while improving quality and engineering discipline across the team
- Troubleshoot and manage production incidents through to resolution, including on-call support and after-hours work as per roster
- Mentor and coach Graduate, Associate and Software Engineers, contributing to onboarding and helping team members grow their capabilities
- Actively participate in communities of practice and strengthen Agile delivery rituals within your team
- Work collaboratively across engineering, product, UX, data and business teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs
Qualifications
So, what we are looking for:
- Experience creating and maintaining software in two or more modern development languages with strong knowledge of design patterns and data modelling
- Proven experience designing, developing and supporting cloud-first applications (AWS), working with APIs, and implementing CI/CD practices
- Demonstrated ability writing well-tested, readable software using modern practices such as TDD, BDD and secure coding standards
- Experience with logging, monitoring, alerting and providing operational support including on-call duties
- Track record of mentoring team members and contributing to professional communities of practice
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and use data to support decision making
