About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Data Architect to join our team, focusing on Payments and Merchant Services within the Commercial Banking sector. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data solutions that support our critical business functions. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and other technology professionals to ensure that our data architecture is scalable, secure, and aligned with our strategic goals. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement data architectures for Payments and Merchant Services, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Develop data models (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) to support business requirements.
- Lead the development of ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Informatica, DBT, Talend, ADF, and Glue.
- Implement data streaming solutions using technologies like Kafka, Event Hub, and Kinesis.
- Establish and maintain data governance policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with data engineers and other technology professionals to ensure the successful implementation of data solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data architecture and payments.
- Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
- Work with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical specifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture.
- Proven experience in Commercial Banking, specifically within Payments or Merchant Services domains.
- Deep knowledge of payment instruments and rails: ACH, Wires, RTP, SWIFT, card networks, tokenization.
- Hands-on experience with data modeling (relational, dimensional, NoSQL).
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, and PySpark.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, DBT, Talend, ADF, Glue, etc.).
- Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Event Hub, Kinesis).
- Familiarity with MDM, metadata management, and data lineage tools.
- Solid understanding of data security and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
