Job Description
Data Governance Analyst – Consultant
Location: Remote US Based Client ( Colombia, Costa Rica, or Argentina)
Experience working with U.S. customers preferred
Overview
We’re looking for a Data Governance Analyst to support our Product and Engineering teams with foundational data governance and compliance work. This is a hands-on, execution‑focused role with strong collaboration and guidance, paired with enough autonomy for someone comfortable owning work and moving it forward independently.
If you’re strong at writing clear documentation, building practical schemas, and keeping stakeholders informed, this could be a great fit.
What You’ll Do
- Draft and maintain data governance documentation, including policies, guidelines, and process documentation (initial drafts refined collaboratively).
- Build and update data classification schemas and basic data standards.
- Support data and AI compliance efforts by documenting requirements and maintaining internal records.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to understand how data is used and accurately reflect that usage in governance artifacts.
- Maintain governance inventories and registries (e.g., tools, data use cases, classifications).
- Track open items, identify risks or gaps, and keep stakeholders informed to enable parallel progress.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong writing skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, usable documentation.
- Experience or foundational knowledge of data governance, data compliance, or data management concepts.
- Comfortable working independently while following direction and asking thoughtful questions.
- Highly organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple workstreams.
- Clear, proactive communicator who keeps stakeholders aligned and informed.
- Interest in AI compliance and governance (experience is a plus but not required).
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Exposure to data platforms or tools such as Databricks, DataHub, Soda, Cube, or similar.
- Experience working with data catalogs, metadata, or internal registries.
- Familiarity with privacy and compliance concepts such as GDPR and basic PII handling.
Why This Role?
This is a strong opportunity for an analyst who wants real ownership, practical experience, and room to grow. You’ll have guidance and context, but also the freedom to contribute meaningfully and help shape how data governance and AI compliance evolve within the organization.
