Job Description
Rose Rocket 🚀 is a market leader in Transportation Management Software. We’re a startup going after the $700+ billion dollar trucking industry, leading the shift to SaaS while revolutionizing the way trucking companies sell, service, and innovate. We are a “more human, less corporate” culture that is built around doing work that matters, winning as a team, and celebrating success. We’d love to hear from you if you want to build this with us.
We understand that joining a team is one of the most important decisions you make ❤️, and adding a team member is one of the most important decisions we’ll make. Through our process, we want you to get to know us and understand how you approach problems, learn, and what motivates you.
We’re Looking for a Builder.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager who builds things. Someone who’s as comfortable in a code editor as they are in a strategy doc. Someone who prototypes ideas to prove them out, not just writes requirements and waits.
This role sits at the intersection of our core platform and the customer experience layer. You’ll own projects where platform architecture meets front-end design, where the decisions you make ripple across the entire product. You’ll report directly to the Director of Product Management and have a significant impact on the direction of the company.
We’ve been evolving how product management works at Rose Rocket. Our PMs are deeply technical, write application-layer code, deploy alongside customers, and use AI tools as a natural part of their workflow. We want someone senior who can take that philosophy further: leading teams, driving strategy, and still getting their hands dirty.
What You’ll Do:
Own High-Impact Platform Projects: Take on initiatives at the intersection of platform capabilities and customer-facing experience. These projects have significant front-end and design considerations, so you’ll need to care about how things look and feel, not just how they work under the hood.
Build and Prototype: Use your technical skills to prototype ideas, validate concepts quickly, and show what’s possible. You’re comfortable in a codebase and you use that to move faster than most PMs.
Drive AI-Native Product Development: Help define how we integrate AI into our platform and products. Whether you’re already building with AI tools daily or you’re a technical person eager to go deep on enterprise AI, you see this as the future and want to shape it.
Lead Through Influence: Work with engineers, designers, and other PMs to ship work that matters. You’ve led teams before and you know how to earn trust, set direction, and unblock people.
Connect Customer Problems to Platform Solutions: Engage directly with customers, recognize patterns, and translate those into platform capabilities that scale.
Ship and Iterate: Own the full lifecycle from discovery through delivery. Make smart bets, learn quickly, and adjust.
Why You’ll Love Working Here:
Real Ownership: You’ll have genuine authority over product direction on projects that matter to the entire company.
A Team That Builds: You’ll be joining a product team that writes code, experiments with AI tools, and ships directly to customers.
Direct Impact: Reporting to the Director of Product, you’ll help shape strategy and have the autonomy to execute on it.
The AI Moment: We’re in the middle of a real shift in how software gets built and delivered. You’ll be part of that.
Hybrid Work: Three days a week in our beautiful downtown Toronto office, two days remote.
What You Bring:
Experience: 7+ years in product management with a track record of shipping products that customers love. You’ve worked on platform or infrastructure products, and you’ve owned projects with significant front-end and design complexity.
Technical Depth: You can read and write code. You understand platform architecture, APIs, data models, and front-end frameworks well enough to have real conversations with engineers and to prototype on your own. This is core to the role.
Builder Mentality: You have a history of building things: side projects, prototypes, internal tools, open source contributions. You make things, not just plans about things.
AI-Native or AI-Eager: You’re either already using AI tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor, etc.) as part of your daily workflow, or you’re a technical person who’s genuinely excited to go deep on enterprise AI. We’ll meet you where you are, but the interest needs to be real.
Design Sensibility: You care about user experience. You can partner effectively with designers, give meaningful feedback on UI/UX, and advocate for the end user in every decision.
Leadership: You’ve led cross-functional teams. You know how to set direction, mentor more junior PMs, and drive alignment across engineering, design, and business stakeholders.
Bias for Action: You’d rather ship something and learn than spend another week in analysis. You’re comfortable with ambiguity and do well when given hard problems and room to run.
Bonus Points:
Experience with TypeScript, React, or modern web development frameworks
Background in B2B SaaS, logistics, or transportation
Experience with AI/ML product development or enterprise AI strategy
You’ve contributed to open source or have public-facing projects that show how you think
The expected salary range for this role is $140,000–$190,000 CAD.
This range reflects the scope of the role, relevant experience, and opportunities for growth. Most new hires join between the minimum and midpoint of the range, with the upper end typically reserved for team members who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact over time.
Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
Don’t sweat it if you don’t have everything listed above. We believe in growth and curiosity. If you have some of these qualities and are excited about this opportunity, then we want to hear from you!
