Warehouse Operations Manager

💰 $100k-$120k

Job Description

Job description

Runwise is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to lead day-to-day warehouse execution, procurement coordination, and inventory operations across our growing field services organization. This is a critical management role responsible for translating strategy into execution—owning warehouse performance, people management, and process discipline while partnering closely with senior operations leadership.

THE TEAM

Runwise (www.runwise.com) is a fast-paced, customer-focused climate-tech startup that controls and runs the key energy systems (heating, cooling, water, etc…) in 8000+ buildings throughout the US. Runwise’s unique hardware and software service significantly reduces energy usage, substantially lowering costs and carbon output. As of today, Runwise’s technology takes the equivalent of 100,000 cars worth of carbon emissions off the road each year. Runwise is headquartered in New York City with established markets in Chicago, Boston, and Washington D.C.

THE ROLE

As Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end warehouse operations, including inventory accuracy, procurement execution, picking/packing workflows, and team performance. You will directly manage warehouse associates, procurement specialists, and/or area managers, serving as the primary operational owner beneath senior leadership.

This role requires someone who is hands-on but systems-minded—comfortable on the floor when needed, but focused on building scalable processes, standard work, and accountability as Runwise continues to grow.

You will work cross-functionally with Field Operations, Scheduling, Onboarding, Logistics, Engineering, Product Management, and Vendors to ensure the right materials are in the right place at the right time—without excess cost or downtime.

  • Develop, document, and enforce SOPs
  • Improve picking accuracy, throughput, storage utilization, and inventory visibility
  • Utilize tracking tools and data to drive operational decisions and continuous improvement

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Field Operations and Scheduling to anticipate material needs
  • Coordinate logistics and shipment timing to meet operational SLAs
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders across all levels of the organization

Who you are:

  • Based in the New York City area
  • Comfortable leading teams while staying close to operations
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and execution-focused
  • Able to communicate clearly with frontline staff and senior leadership alike

  • Willing and able to work overtime or flex hours as operational needs require

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of warehouse, inventory, or operations experience (with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role)
  • Experience managing people and workflows in a physical operations environment
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage competing priorities
  • High School diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s degree a plus but not required)
