Remote position - From Buenos Aires, Argentina
Ryz Labs is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our client’s fast-moving team, and help shape the next chapter of their project. You will build, mentor, and scale a high-impact engineering team, playing a key role in shaping their technical direction, improving engineering excellence, and ensuring they deliver reliable, elegant products at speed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and coach engineers across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
- Partner with other leads to define priorities, scope projects, and support effective planning.
- Facilitate architectural discussions and provide technical direction.
- Ensure strong engineering practices around code quality, testing, documentation, and reliability.
- Oversee project execution: unblock teams, manage timelines, and coordinate cross-functional efforts.
- Support team growth through hiring, onboarding, and building a high-performing, inclusive culture.
- Run and refine engineering processes, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and 1:1s.
- Drive continuous improvements in velocity, collaboration, technical excellence, and communication.
- Collaborate with leadership to define long-term technical strategy and scaling plans.
- Advocate for the team and manage expectations across stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in engineering management or technical leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, architectures, and delivery workflows across web or platform teams.
- Ability to provide technical direction, review engineering decisions, and guide system design.
- Proven success in hiring, managing, mentoring, and developing engineers across multiple seniority levels.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with product, design, and business partners.
- Experience leading teams in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where priorities, processes, and systems evolve rapidly.
- Ability to balance execution speed, technical quality, and long-term strategic thinking
Desired Qualifications:
- Background working in scaling startups.
- Experience with distributed systems, DevOps practices, or cloud architectures at a conceptual level.
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and reliability best practices.
