About San Francisco International Arts Festival
We connect artists and audiences worldwide to celebrate the arts. We present projects that foster cultural understanding across cultures. Our curatorial approach focuses on fostering collaborations between Bay Area artists and their global peers. We also feature international artists who are rarely seen in the U.S. or lack American representation.
Between 2003 and 2024, we and over 100 presenting partners coordinated, presented, or produced performances by more than 700 arts ensembles from California and 60 other countries. We’ve also organized hundreds of educational and community engagement activities.
We build long-term relationships with Bay Area artists to create cross-cultural performances. This helps expand artistic horizons, strengthen community connections, and create new income opportunities for artists. We also held our Summer Series and 2023 festival at San Francisco State University (SFSU). We specialize in Theatre, Music, Dance, Opera, Circus, and other performing arts.
