We are an independent game development studio, founded in 2018 and based in Irvine, California. We focus on making fun computer games. Our flagship product, MARVEL SNAP, is a mobile game that has won several awards, including Mobile Game of the Year (Game Awards, DICE), Best Strategy Game (IGN), and the Apple Design Award for Innovation.

We develop new multi-platform, mobile-first free-to-play games, often based on major intellectual properties. Our team handles all aspects of game creation, from UI/UX design, content design, and gameplay systems development to backend infrastructure, live operations, and monetization. We also use AI for game development and testing.

Our mission is simple: to make the most fun games and build the best company in the world. We want our games to have a long lifespan, keeping players engaged for years, not just months. Second Dinner is a remote-first studio. Most of the team works remotely across the United States, with a small headquarters in Irvine, California. It operates as a small team (51-200 employees) that values agility and a close-knit environment where everyone knows each other.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible work options like 100% remote or hybrid roles. We cover 100% of employee premiums for Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, and 75% for dependents on many plans. Our 401(k) includes company contributions with no waiting period, regardless of employee contributions.

Employees receive generous paid time off: 3 weeks of vacation, 2 weeks of sick time, and 16 weeks of 100% paid parental leave with no waiting period. We also observe a Summer Holiday shutdown (week of July 4), a Winter Holiday shutdown (December 25-January 1), and eight other company holidays.

To help set up your home office, we provide a $1,000 bonus. We support learning through virtual workshops and offer a wellness benefit that includes up to 10 virtual therapy sessions with a licensed therapist (BetterHelp) each year. We also hold annual in-person events, such as a summer gathering and holiday party, as well as virtual events throughout the year. Equity in the company is also part of our compensation.
