Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Redwood City, California, we build the data layer for specialized AI. We help frontier labs, enterprises, and government agencies develop AI tailored to their specific needs.

Our work began with research from the Stanford AI Lab. We offer an AI data development platform that helps users design, test, evaluate, and improve the data that powers frontier models and agent behavior. This platform manages the entire AI data loop, including dataset curation, realistic simulations, rubric design, and evaluations.

We also provide expert data services to create high-quality, domain-specific datasets. Our applied AI solutions help design and co-develop specialized models, evaluation frameworks, and data pipelines. We use programmatic automation along with human experts who use rubrics, verifiers, and review loops to create datasets. This method supports over 1,000 expert topics. Our data development process involves planning tasks and scoring rubrics, executing with rubric-guided pipelines, refining through failure analysis, and evaluating using coding tasks and simulations.

We specialize in enterprise AI, weak supervision, programmatic labeling, machine learning, data science, foundation models, LLMs, Generative AI, NLP, computer vision, and document intelligence. We work with organizations like Google, Apple, DARPA, and Stanford Medicine. Our investors include Addition, Greylock, GV, In-Q-Tel, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and funds managed by BlackRock.

Our mission is to make AI data development programmatic, much like other software development. We also aim to empower people to solve important problems using data-centric AI.
