Position Overview
The Senior Associate will play a pivotal role in coordinating the onboarding of new investor-facing and investment manager-facing funds onto StepStone’s Private Debt Platform. This position combines operational oversight with project management responsibilities to ensure seamless fund launches and integration. The role involves managing onboarding workflows, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate onboarding activities for new funds, including opening bank accounts, onboarding service providers, and updating trackers and logs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and dependencies are met.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external administrators to ensure successful implementation of onboardings/projects
- Drive the implementation of workflow enhancements/automation to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk
- Perform other duties as requested or as responsibilities dictate
- Assist in reviewing cash related instructions and allocations of private loans on the Private Debt Platform.
- Assist the team with day-to-day operations
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier institution
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in investment operations, fund onboarding, or middle-office roles within asset management or private markets.
- Proven track record in managing projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
- Prior exposure to Private Debt or alternative investments.
- Prior experience with different investment structures/vehicles and jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated ability coordinate multiple onboardings/projects simultaneously which are time-sensitive while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

- Exceptional organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple onboarding projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a process-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence and guide team members.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Office applications; familiarity with workflow automation tools is a plus.
- Flexible and collaborative approach; thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
