- Perform deeper reconciliations, including earnings and deductions variance analysis, payroll register reviews, and support general ledger tie-outs with increased analytical ownership.
- Partner closely with HR, Benefits, and Finance to resolve systemic issues by providing clear root-cause analysis and implementing preventive solutions.
- Support year-end processing and audit requests with minimal oversight.
- Contribute to SOP updates, internal control enhancements, recurring error analysis, and payroll process improvements.
- Mentor Payroll Associate I team members through peer coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism, strong customer service, and timely follow-through.
- Maintain strict confidentiality while ensuring compliance with internal controls, payroll regulations, and record retention requirements.
We’re excited about you because…
- You have 3+ years of payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
- You have a strong working knowledge of gross-to-net payroll concepts, multi-state compliance considerations, and timekeeping impacts.
- You bring strong Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, data validation) and are comfortable manipulating large datasets.
- You have hands-on experience with payroll and HRIS systems; ADP Vantage, Workforce, and Workday experience is strongly preferred.
- You operate independently with sound judgment, proactively identifying risk and recommending thoughtful improvements.
- You are analytical and detail-oriented, with demonstrated experience resolving complex payroll cases and documenting outcomes clearly.
- You strengthen controls, improve reconciliation accuracy, and contribute to overall payroll cycle stability.
- You communicate effectively across teams and are comfortable partnering with stakeholders to drive resolution and process improvements.
- You enjoy mentoring others and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
