SustainCERT

SustainCERT was founded in 2018 by Gold Standard. We are a climate impact verifier, validating and verifying impact for carbon markets and value chains. Our approach aligns with international sustainability frameworks such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, UN Sustainable Development Goals, Gold Standard, and the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). We also co-founded the Value Change Initiative to define best practices for Scope 3 emission reductions.

We help companies in food, agriculture, and apparel report Scope 3 emissions by verifying interventions, emission factors, and product carbon footprints. Our services ensure companies meet leading standards and achieve science-based targets.

For carbon markets, we are an accredited Validation and Verification Body (VVB). We assess carbon offset projects against standards such as Verra VCS, Gold Standard, ICR, GCC, JCM, and Article 6.4. We also verify product carbon footprints (PCFs) with our SustainCERT PCF Label, following ISO 14067.

Our digital platform supports these verification services. It streamlines workflows, helps companies manage and allocate value chain intervention impacts, and prevents double-counting. Since 2021, we have been involved in Digital Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (DMRV) through thought leadership, collaborations with standards bodies, and pilot programs. We are accredited by ANAB under ISO14065:2013 and approved as a VVB for various standards.
