Product Analytics Lead

Job Description

Hi there!

We’re SweedPos , a product-driven startup building an all-in-one cannabis retail platform. We’re looking for a Product Analytics Lead to help our product teams make smarter, faster, and more confident decisions using data. Fully remote.

About Us

At Sweed, we’re reimagining how cannabis retailers operate. Our enterprise-grade platform combines POS, eCommerce, Marketing, Analytics and Inventory Management into a single, seamless solution—eliminating the need for multiple third-party tools.

We believe in simplicity, efficiency, and innovation. That’s why we build for scalability and performance, making life easier for cannabis retailers while driving real business growth.

Why We’re Doing This

At Sweed, we believe in the medicinal potential of cannabis. It has been shown to help with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and many other conditions. Despite the lingering stigma, we see cannabis as a powerful tool for improving lives.

The industry is evolving rapidly, and we’re here to drive that transformation—making cannabis retail more efficient, accessible, and customer-friendly.

Where We Are Now

We’ve been on the market for 7 years, continuously growing and refining our product.

Our focus is on earning customer trust, which means constantly improving our delivery processes and rolling out new features. At the same time, we navigate the complex legal landscape of the cannabis industry, ensuring our platform remains compliant and future-proof.

Team Structure

Our total team size is over 200 people:

The development team is distributed globally and organized into cross-functional product teams. These teams typically consist of 8–12 members, including front-end and back-end developers, QA specialists, and analysts.

Each team is led by a Team Lead and a Product Owner, ensuring effective collaboration and clear direction.

Meanwhile, our CEO, account managers, and customer success team are based in the USA, working closely with us to align product development with business and user needs.

Why This Role Matters

Our customers — cannabis retailers — rely on our product daily to run their business. We’re looking for a Product Analytics Lead to lead and scale the Product Analytics function within the AI team.

This role, at the intersection of product strategy, data, and AI, will shape how decisions are made company-wide. You’ll manage the Product Analytics team, define standards and priorities, and partner closely with Product, Data, and Machine Learning teams.

You’ll lead analysts working with product managers, engineers, and leadership to define metrics, run experiments, generate insights, and influence the product roadmap.

What to do in the project?

  • Lead & scale Product Analytics

    • Lead and mentor a team of Product Analysts, helping them grow technically and strategically

    • Own the Product Analytics roadmap, priorities, and delivery

    • Establish best practices for product analytics, experimentation, and decision-making

    • Ensure high-quality, actionable insights that influence product and business outcomes

Drive product decision-making

  • Partner closely with Product Managers to define success metrics, KPIs, and north-star metrics

  • Translate business and product questions into analytical frameworks and insights

  • Proactively identify opportunities, risks, and areas for product improvement

  • Support discovery, experimentation, and post-launch analysis

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Act as the primary analytics partner for Product and a close collaborator with Data and ML teams

  • Align analytics efforts with the broader AI strategy and company goals

  • Work with Data Engineering to define data requirements, tracking plans, and data models

Build towards SweedAI

  • Play a key role in shaping the analytics foundation for SweedAI

  • Help define how data and insights power AI-driven product capabilities

  • Collaborate with ML engineers on feature definition, evaluation metrics, and model monitoring

  • Ensure analytics is embedded into AI-powered workflows and decision systems

What professional skills are important for us?

  • High agency and extreme attention to details

  • 6+ years of experience in product or growth analytics, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or mentoring role

  • Proven track record of influencing product decisions through data

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with modern BI tools (e.g. Metabase, Looker, Mode, or similar)

  • Experience with event-based analytics and product instrumentation (e.g. Amplitude, PostHog)

  • Ability to translate business questions into structured analysis — and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Excellent English (written and spoken) — you’ll work across distributed, international teams and sometimes interface with clients or business stakeholders

  • Bonus: experience working in B2B SaaS or platform products; bonus points for regulated markets (e.g. healthcare, cannabis)

What Else Matters?

  • Proactivity– We love team members who take initiative and provide feedback

  • Critical thinking – We value problem-solvers who think beyond just writing code

  • Adaptability – Our industry is evolving fast, and we need people who thrive in change

What We Offer

  • Salary in USD (B2B contract with the US company)

  • 100% remote – We’re a remote-first company, no offices needed!

  • Flexible working hours – Core team time: 09:00-15:00 GMT (flexible per team)

  • 20 paid vacation days per year

  • 12 holidays per year

  • 3 sick leave days

  • Medical insurance after probation

  • Equipment reimbursement (laptops, monitors, etc.)

Hiring Process

  1. Recruiter Call (up to 45 minutes) - Intro & expectations

  2. Technical Interview (up to 1.5 hours) – SQL, case-based product analytics

  3. Hiring Manager Call (up to 1 hour) - Deep dive into your Analytics background

  5. Team Introduction(up to 30 minutes)
