We started Swiftly in 2014 to build software for public transportation and urban mobility. Our transit data platform helps agencies share real-time passenger information, manage daily operations, and improve service. Over 200 transit agencies in 12 countries, including LA Metro, MARTA, SEPTA, MBTA, and WMATA, use our platform.

Our platform analyzes billions of data points to generate accurate vehicle location and movement information. Our main products are Transitime for real-time passenger information, Metronome for real-time vehicle operations, and Insights for historical transit data. These tools provide features like vehicle predictions, rider alerts, real-time fleet visibility, and historical trend analysis. We also offer integrations and APIs to monitor real-time data quality.

We help agencies increase on-time performance by up to 40%, improve passenger information accuracy by up to 50%, and analyze transit data 90% faster. Our solutions give riders up-to-the-second trip information, help improve on-time performance with real-time adjustments, allow faster planning with data visualizations, optimize schedules using historical data, and enable customer service teams to answer questions quickly.

Our global operations support 2.4 billion passenger trips per year and serve over 11,500 transit professionals. We have offices in San Francisco, CA.

Our mission is to improve how cities move. We build tools to address transportation challenges and make public transit a fast, frequent, and appealing alternative to private vehicles. We aim to deliver reliable transit to help cities move more efficiently.

We have 51-200 employees and are committed to diversity; about half our team identifies as female. Our co-founders Jonny Simkin, Michael Smith, and Will Dayton lead us. We support a flexible work environment with flexible PTO (and a recommended minimum), 16 paid holidays (including months without US national holidays), and 8 weeks of fully paid leave for childbirth or adoption. For remote work, we offer home office setup reimbursement and monthly cell/internet reimbursement. Employees also receive a monthly ‘Be Well’ stipend. We provide educational reimbursement and cover travel for in-person company or team offsites, typically 1–2 times per year.
