**This is a hybrid position that requires 2 days per week in office at our Bangalore location**

Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, the Engineering Manager will lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and scaling mission-critical systems. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management responsibilities, partnering closely with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, and Engineering leaders to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality software solutions. We are looking for a collaborative leader who can drive execution, mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and contribute to the broader engineering strategy while fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.

HOW WE’LL BE WINNING TOGETHER DAY TO DAY

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 8–12 software engineers across multiple experience levels

• Manage hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and retention initiatives

• Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, establish clear goals, and provide constructive feedback to support team growth

• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement

• Drive end-to-end delivery of roadmap commitments with a focus on quality, reliability, and timely execution

• Partner with Product Management to prioritize roadmap initiatives while balancing feature delivery and technical investments

• Manage sprint planning, estimations, dependency management, and risk mitigation across teams

• Track and improve engineering metrics related to delivery, quality, operational health, and system reliability

• Define and guide the technical direction for the team’s services and platforms

• Promote engineering best practices including code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and operational excellence

• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, and incident management activities

• Drive improvements in scalability, reliability, performance, and technical debt reduction

• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, and customer-facing teams to align on priorities and business outcomes

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and senior leadership on progress, trade-offs, risks, and delivery expectations

• Contribute to organization-wide engineering initiatives, hiring efforts, and process improvements

WE SHOULD TALK IF THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOU

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years of direct people management experience

• Proven experience building, shipping, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production environments

• Strong technical expertise with technologies such as Java, .NET, Python, or Node.js along with microservices and REST APIs

• Hands-on experience working with SQL/NoSQL databases and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills

• Demonstrated success in hiring, mentoring, and retaining engineering talent

• Experience driving engineering best practices across quality, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence

• Experience participating in architectural discussions and guiding technical decision-making

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

• Experience in SaaS, e-commerce, master data management (MDM), product information management (PIM), or data syndication domains (preferred but not required)

• Experience leading distributed teams across multiple geographies (preferred but not required)

• Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled product features (preferred but not required)
