The Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking a Laboratory Animal Veterinary Intern to join our Animal Welfare and Integrity team in this full time, paid, summer internship. This will be a part‑remote / part‑onsite internship; qualified candidates should be available to spend approximately two to three days per week at our Cambridge City, Indiana site.
Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions and could exceed the advertised salary range.
The Internship: The Laboratory Animal Veterinary Intern supports animal welfare assessments under the supervision of veterinary staff while receiving professional training, following established SOPs, assisting with data compilation, and participating in team meetings.
You can expect to:
- Work with veterinary staff to assess animal welfare issues
- Learn to communicate with animal care staff
- Search pertinent databases and compile data
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Train in appropriate SOPs
- Network within our global organization.

- Complete an end of summer presentation on the knowledge and skills obtained, with provided exposure to leadership

Eligibility:
To be eligible for this opportunity you must:
- Be enrolled in an academic program in pursuit of a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine
- Have completed at least one year of courses in a veterinary medical program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
