The Role: We are seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager / Business Analyst for a part-time, project-based engagement supporting a payroll-focused initiative. This role sits at the intersection of business analysis and project delivery, requiring strong documentation skills, stakeholder communication, and the ability to translate business processes into clear, build-ready requirements.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working alongside both business stakeholders and technical teams, including engineers and AI architects. Engagement Details:
- 20 hours per week
- Contract (external)
- May 5 – September 12, 2026 (19 weeks)
- Working hours aligned to Pacific or AZ Time (approx. 9–5, 3 days per week) - Remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture and document current-state payroll workflows, translating SME knowledge into clear, build-ready requirements
- Define and document variance threshold rules and checklist logic in collaboration with internal payroll stakeholders
- Develop functional and technical requirements for:
- Variance Detection
- Checklist Validation and Case Management
- Track project progress, maintain status reporting, and communicate updates to executive stakeholders
- Coordinate UAT efforts and support pilot close activities
- Create SOPs and runbooks to support operational handoff
Required Skills:
- Strong business analysis experience including requirements gathering, process documentation, and use case definition
- Project management experience including milestone tracking, risk logging, and stakeholder communication
- Technical fluency with the ability to work closely with engineers and translate between business and technical teams
Nice to Have:
- Experience within payroll, HR, or PEO environments
- Experience working on API-driven or automation-focused projects
Schedule:
- Pacific OR AZ Time (approx. 9–5, 3 days per week)
