Job Description
Who are you?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Financial Accounting & Reporting (CPA) to join our team in our Toronto office.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to the Financial Controller.
Responsibilities
- Leads the oversight of all accounting and financial reporting functions.
- Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Canadian GAAP and IFRS.
- Demonstrates experience in revenue recognition, project accounting, and related compliance requirements.
- Oversees cash flow management, ensuring optimal utilization of financial resources.
- Implements and maintains robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets (SOX).
- Collaborates with external vendors on payroll, travel, and expense processes.
- Collaborates with banking partners on the automation of financial reporting.
- Collaborates with external auditors and manages the annual audit process.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant financial regulations and tax laws.
- Supports the Finance Controller in driving continuous improvement in financial processes and systems linked to financial platforms.
- Supports the Finance Controller in governance policy implementation and procedures to support the company’s growth objectives.
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in finance and accounting, including at least 2+ years in a Finance Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP (ASPE), US GAAP, and IFRS.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations (including Quebec).
- Expertise in financial accounting, reporting, and compliance.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and modelling.
- Advanced knowledge of internal controls and risk management (SOX).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in a private corporation environment is preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience in construction, project, or program management environments.
- Experience with Microsoft D365 accounting software.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Microsoft Copilot, or other AI-enabled productivity tools.
Additional Information
The base salary range for this full-time role is $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
