The Shared Transaction Centre (STC) is the University of Auckland’s centralised ‘Procure to Pay’ and ‘Order to Cash’ centre. It is responsible for all purchasing, billing, and revenue collection activity for faculties and most service divisions. We perform an operational function, consolidating high volume finance transactional activities relating to the purchasing and supply of goods and services.

The Shared Transaction Centre (STC) is looking for a dynamic Team Leader – Procure to Pay to guide our talented Finance Administrators and help shape the future of our service delivery.
As part of OneFinance, the STC plays a critical role in the University’s purchasing and financial operations. You will lead a team of 13 finance administrators, ensuring they are supported, coached, and empowered to perform at their best. As the position description states, the role exists “to organise and direct the daily activities of the STC’s operations… ensuring recruitment, quality induction, training and coaching for team members is planned and occurring” and to “ensure staff have the appropriate level of responsibility, training and resources… to achieve agreed goals.”
In this role, you will:
- Provide strong people leadership, mentoring, coaching, and developing a large team to achieve high performance.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, customer centric culture that encourages continuous improvement.
- Manage daily operations in a fast paced, high volume Procure to Pay environment, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with University policies and procedures.
- Drive innovation by challenging existing processes and championing new ideas that enhance service delivery.
- Ensure adherence to policy, controls, and compliance frameworks.
- Use your strong systems capability—particularly across ERP platforms (PeopleSoft) and related applications—to support smooth transactional processing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across faculties, service divisions, suppliers, and customers.
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday).
Salary range is $76,000 - $94,000pa plus benefits.

- Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing a sizeable team in a complex, high volume transactional environment.
- A track record of motivating teams, building capability, and fostering engagement.
- Strong operational management experience with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and customer service.
- A continuous improvement mindset—someone who naturally questions how things can be done better and drives meaningful change.
- Confidence working with ERP systems and financial applications, ideally PeopleSoft.
- A commitment to compliance, quality, and policy driven processes.
- The ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively across diverse stakeholder groups.
