Our client designs and manufactures modular energy infrastructure supporting battery energy storage, power generation, and modular data centers. Their systems integrate batteries, inverters, transformers, and electrical distribution equipment into factory-built platforms deployed for utility-scale and commercial energy projects.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design and architecture of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
This role is responsible for developing electrical distribution systems, protection schemes, and equipment integration for modular energy platforms that combine battery systems, inverters, transformers, and monitoring infrastructure.
The engineer will collaborate closely with mechanical, manufacturing, and integration teams to deliver production-ready systems.
- Design electrical architectures for BESS platforms including AC and DC power distribution systems.
- Develop single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and cable schedules.
- Integrate battery systems, battery management systems (BMS), PCS inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
- Define grounding strategies, protection schemes, and isolation methods for high-power electrical systems.
- Develop monitoring, alarm, and shutdown logic to ensure safe and reliable battery operation.
- Coordinate electrical design with mechanical layouts and enclosure constraints.
- Support commissioning, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and troubleshooting of energy storage systems.
- Produce production-ready electrical documentation supporting manufacturing and system integration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience designing industrial electrical systems or power infrastructure.
- Experience with power distribution systems, protection systems, and electrical schematics.
- Experience integrating equipment such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, or energy storage systems.
- Strong experience developing technical documentation for engineering and manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or microgrid power systems.
- Familiarity with UL 9540, UL 1741, or similar energy storage safety standards.
- Experience integrating SCADA, EMS, or energy monitoring systems.
- Previous experience supporting renewable energy, data center power infrastructure, or large industrial power systems.
Additional Requirements
Previous experience working with U.S.-based engineering teams is valued.
Fluent English communication skills (spoken and written).
Ability to present a portfolio of relevant engineering projects, ideally including energy infrastructure or power systems.
