TheTravel is a rapidly growing online travel publication that is dedicated to inspiring people to explore the world. We are seeking a talented and passionate freelance Junior Editor to join our team and help us share unique and captivating stories about travel destinations, culture, and experiences.
The Junior Editor will be responsible for editing content according to TheTravel’s content strategy and editorial guidelines. The position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent writing skills, and the ability to meet content output targets. The Junior Editor will contribute to quality assurance, ensuring all content aligns with the publication’s tone, style, and objectives.
Your Responsibilities
- Assist in editing articles to ensure they meet the brand’s editorial standards for grammar, accuracy, and style.
- Collaborate with writers to refine their work, providing feedback to enhance content quality and clarity.
- Ensure SEO best practices are applied to all content, including keyword usage, metadata optimization, and internal linking.
- Fact-check content for accuracy, verifying aviation details and data before publication.
- Help format and publish articles using the content management system (CMS), ensuring they are visually appealing and meet all technical requirements.
- Assist in content ideation, contributing ideas for articles and features that align with current aviation trends and the brand’s audience interests.
- Stay updated on industry trends, including aviation news, reviews, and events, to ensure the brand remains a trusted and relevant source for aviation content.
- A passion for the aviation industry and strong knowledge of aviation and industry trends.

Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent editing and writing skills, with attention to detail and a strong grasp of grammar, punctuation, and style.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and a willingness to learn more about content optimization.
- Experience using content management systems (CMS) for publishing and formatting content (WordPress or similar platforms preferred).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
