About Verge Genomics
Founded in 2015, we are a clinical-stage biotechnology company that develops drugs for complex diseases like ALS and Parkinson’s. We use AI and human genomic data from patient tissues combined with machine learning to discover and develop new treatments.
Our proprietary all-in-human CONVERGE® platform contains a database of multi-omic patient data directly from human tissue. This platform uses machine learning to identify disease causes and predict drug candidates.
Our first drug, VRG50635—a small molecule inhibitor of PIKfyve—entered clinical trials for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) four years after its discovery using the CONVERGE® platform. We are also researching treatments for Parkinson’s Disease, Frontotemporal Dementia, and other conditions.
Mission & Values
Our mission is to develop better drugs, faster, using technology.
Our values guide how we work. We embrace courageous ambition, meaning we take risks, show grit, and tackle difficult problems, driven by potential rather than fear.
We treat every situation as an opportunity to improve. This means taking responsibility, avoiding blame, fostering curiosity for learning, and growing in self-awareness.
We also commit to revealing authentic truths. We prioritize genuine relationships, are vulnerable, express emotions, seek and share difficult truths, and communicate directly.
Team & Culture
Our team is made up of 51 to 200 employees, led by computational biologists and drug developers. We foster a culture where drug-hunters collaborate with experts in machine learning, statistics, and engineering, blending scientific and technological expertise.
We think of ourselves as ‘founders’—motivated to learn, actively contribute, and make a real impact on human health.
We are committed to building a diverse workforce and actively seek applicants from all backgrounds. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
