Viking Global Investors

We founded Viking Global Investors in 1999. As of September 30, 2025, we manage over $55 billion in public equity, private equity, and credit and structured capital strategies. We use a fundamentals-driven investment approach, concentrating capital in opportunities identified through extensive research. Our goal is to deliver top performance to our investors through excellence in both investment and operations.

We launched our first public equity strategy on October 1, 1999, with $520 million. In 2015, we introduced a public-private hybrid strategy, investing in both liquid and illiquid securities based on their risk-adjusted return profiles. We also integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into our operations and investment decisions. We are registered as an investment adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Our mission is to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns for our investors through excellent investment and operational practices. We aim to be an enduring investment firm, a top investment manager, capital provider, and employer.

We have over 275 employees, including more than 45 investment professionals, working across five offices in Stamford, New York, Hong Kong, London, and San Francisco. Our investment team uses a flexible multi-portfolio structure, where analysts can earn portfolio management responsibility based on their performance. Since we started, 42 individuals have been promoted to portfolio manager. We are the largest investor in Viking, aligning our interests with those of our partners.

Our summer intern program has been successful, with over a quarter of our investment team and two of our seven portfolio managers having started as interns. We launched the Viking Global Foundation in 2009 to involve employees in philanthropy. It primarily supports early childhood education and development programs, and also offers volunteer events, educational opportunities, and a matching gifts program.
