Job Description
Location: Europe (Remote)
Company: Voyagu
Product: Radar
Voyagu is a travel-tech company building Radar, a production platform that has been operating for over five years and is now evolving into a multi-agency SaaS system.
We are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to own the financial core of the platform — the system responsible for revenue calculations, payments, costs, and ledger-style financial events.
This role focuses on financial systems architecture, not generic backend development.
The challenge is evolving a complex production system into a structured, ledger-driven financial platform while ensuring deterministic profit and financial correctness.
What you will work on
You will take ownership of the Economic Core of the platform and help shape how financial logic is implemented across the system.
Key areas include:
- ledger-style economic events
- revenue and profit calculation logic
- payment and cost normalization
- client and supplier balances
- financial lifecycle transitions
- enforcing financial invariants and consistency rules
You will join during an active architectural transformation where the financial foundation of the platform is being redesigned.
What we are looking for
We are looking for engineers who have built real financial or transactional systems.
Ideal background includes experience with:
- payment platforms
- fintech systems
- billing infrastructure
- marketplaces with financial flows
- accounting or ERP systems
- subscription billing platforms
Requirements:
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience
- experience owning financial or transactional domain logic
- experience evolving financial systems in production
- strong relational database design skills
- ability to reason about money flows, balances, and reconciliation
Why this role matters
The Economic Core is the financial spine of the platform.
Correct financial architecture determines:
- revenue correctness
- platform scalability
- ability to evolve into SaaS
- reliability of business operations
This role has direct architectural ownership of the financial foundation of Radar.
