The Tax Manager is responsible for managing the Company’s federal, state, local and international tax compliance and income tax accounting across multiple legal entities. This role partners closely with the Finance team and internal tax advisors to ensure accurate tax filings, tax provisions, and supporting documentation. The Tax Accounting Manager will also support audits, acquisitions, and ongoing process improvements.

How you’ll spend your time:
- Prepare federal and state tax returns, estimates, extensions and international forms for corporations and partnerships.
- Support monthly and annual close processes related to tax accruals/provisions, reserves and reconciliations.
- Prepare tax-related journal entries and maintain supporting workpapers and documentation.
- Monitor state nexus, apportionment and compliance requirements.
- Manage annual information reporting requirements, including Forms 1099 and other applicable tax reporting.
- Oversee compliance with business tax filings, including franchise taxes, gross receipts taxes, and other state and local business-related tax filings.
- Assist in preparation of tax projections and required estimated tax payments.
- Preparation and review of tax correspondence in response to tax audits or tax notices.
- Preparation and filing of monthly/quarterly sales, excise, B&O and other state and local filings.
- Assist payroll team with research and response to payroll tax notices.
- Preparation and filing of annual Personal Property Returns for various jurisdictions.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state income taxation
- Tax Provision experience a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
- Detail oriented and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft office Suites
- Knowledge of Thomson Reuters Gosystem Tax or other tax software
The kinds of people we want to talk to have many of the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
- CPA or Masters Degree in Taxation preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant tax experience, ideally in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department within a complex multi-entity organization
- Part-time position with flexible hours (20–25 hours per week)
The compensation for this part‑time position ranges from: $52,500 – $82,500. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
