Our client is a US-based logistics and freight brokerage company providing comprehensive transportation solutions across North America. They specialize in full truckload (TL), intermodal (IMDL), and less-than-truckload (LTL) services within the domestic market, focusing on reliable carrier partnerships and exceptional customer service.
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Carrier Sales Representative to identify reliable carriers, negotiate competitive rates, and oversee the transportation of freight from dispatch through delivery. This role involves daily communication with carriers and drivers, real-time load management, and problem-solving to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key responsibilities:
Identify reputable carriers for freight services using company tools (GO HWY, Carrier 411, DAT)
Negotiate rates with carriers
Dispatch and track active loads (TL / Truckload / IMDL / LTL) domestically
Communicate with dispatchers and drivers daily to track load status and provide timely updates to customers
Identify potential issues and implement solutions
Enter load data in the internal TMS system in real-time as the load progresses
Work cross-functionally to assist with customer billing and accounting responsibilities, as needed (more applicable during night shifts due to lower volume)
Requirements
1-2 years of experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, or logistics operations
Experience using carrier sourcing tools (GO HWY, Carrier 411, DAT, or similar platforms)
Strong negotiation skills with ability to secure competitive rates
Excellent communication skills for working with carriers, drivers, and internal teams
Problem-solving mindset with ability to think quickly and act decisively
Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to multitask and manage multiple loads simultaneously
Self-motivated and proactive approach to work
Team player willing to support cross-functional initiatives
Working conditions:
Working schedule: Monday - Friday, 05:00-14:00 PST
Work mode - hybrid/remote
