Our core capabilities include building and managing high-performing networks, engaging members through enrollment tools, ID cards, cost transparency, and personalized support. We also optimize claims management for pricing and payment accuracy. We handle the delivery of payments and associated communications to providers, and we orchestrate clear communications for members about their benefits. Specific offerings include Provider Nexus® (a multi-payer provider directory API), S365 (an individual-carrier provider directory), and SmartShopper® (a healthcare navigation service).
We started as Stratose® in 1995, initially focused on expanding access and delivering a wrap network solution. Our growth continued with key integrations and acquisitions: PHX (claims cost management) in 2003, Pay-Plus Solutions (payment innovations) in 2012, and uniting under the Zelis brand in 2015. Further expansions added new analytics and network capabilities, including the acquisition of Truven, Ethicare, Strenuus, and the Maverest Dental Network in 2017, and Netminder in 2018. In 2019, we integrated RedCard for enrollment and claims communications solutions. More recently, we acquired Sapphire Digital in 2021 to expand our member navigation and transparency offerings. In 2022, we acquired PayerCompass for Medicare capabilities, reference-based pricing, and payment integrity, and Payspan for its payments network.
