Collections law firm/agency dedicated to assisting attorneys and law firms recover unpaid legal fees and costs from former clients. We are a compliance-driven, ethics-focused practice built by experienced California attorneys who understand the unique challenges of collecting fees within the strict limits of the State Bar’s mandatory fee arbitration and professional conduct rules.

Need not be located in nor bar-admitted in California, but we are seeking a California-experienced attorney or paralegal with a background in fee arbitration, collection of unpaid legal fees, and litigation against former clients. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience navigating the State Bar’s Mandatory Fee Arbitration process and enforcing attorney fee awards through civil collection procedures. This is a contract worker position at this time.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle or assist with pre-litigation collections of unpaid legal fees, including demand letters, settlement negotiations, and repayment agreements.

  • Prepare, file, and manage State Bar Mandatory Fee Arbitration cases, including drafting submissions, correspondence, and responding to opposing parties.

  • Enforce arbitration awards or judgments through civil collection actions such as breach of contract or common counts lawsuits.

  • Conduct legal research and drafting related to attorney-client fee disputes, liens, and post-judgment remedies.

  • Communicate professionally with both referring attorneys (clients) and former clients (debtors) while maintaining CCM’s high ethical standards.

  • Maintain detailed records and case updates in the firm’s collection management system.

  • For Attorneys: Experience in fee disputes, collections, or civil litigation.

  • For Paralegals: Minimum 1+ years’ experience supporting fee arbitration, collection, or litigation matters, with strong familiarity with filing procedures and legal documentation.

  • Strong legal writing, organization, and client communication skills.

  • Proficiency with legal and case management software preferred.

  • Work remotely Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week (no weekends)

  • Vacation: 10 business days a year

  • Holidays: 5 National Holidays a year
