We are seeking a proactive Azure Cloud Administrator to lead the operational management and continuous improvement of our clientโs Microsoft Azure environment. This role blends hands-on cloud administration with light architectural responsibilities to support scalability, performance, and security across our hybrid infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be skilled in Azure services, governance, and automation, with a collaborative mindset to help drive internal cloud maturity and modernization.
Primary Duties
- Cloud Administration & Support
Manage and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure including virtual machines, storage, networking, and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD). Ensure uptime, security, scalability, and performance.
- Azure Strategy & Implementation
Partner with IT leadership to refine WSBโs cloud strategy and lead the implementation of Azure best practices across provisioning, monitoring, and governance.
- O365 Ecosystem Support
Provide infrastructure support for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and related M365 services, ensuring integration with Azure identity and access management.
- Infrastructure Modernization & Migration
Support the transition of cloud infrastructure in-house and enable future growth through templated deployments, standardization, and automation.
- Monitoring, Security & Cost Optimization
Implement and manage Azure Monitor, cost controls, and backup/recovery solutions. Ensure the environment meets compliance, performance, and risk standards.
- Collaboration & Enablement
Work closely with internal Cloud Architect and junior Cloud Administrator, contributing to team upskilling and process development. Document standards and mentor where needed.
- Automation & Efficiency
Identify and implement automation opportunities using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools to streamline cloud management.
- Incident Response & Service Requests
Act as an escalation point for Azure and O365 infrastructure incidents, supporting timely resolution and root cause analysis.
Nice to Have Skills
Certifications: Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305), Microsoft 365 Administrator (MS-102)
Automation/Scripting: PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI
Security & Monitoring: Experience with Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, or similar tools
DevOps Tools: Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
Networking Knowledge: Experience with VPN, DNS, DHCP, and firewall configurations in cloud environments
